Friday the 13th.
I met the founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes. She was at the La Jolla cupcakery for its “one-year anniversary” and so as soon as I got the Tweet I jumped out of bed and sped over there as quickly as my little feet could carry me. Despite her oh-so-corny comments on Cupcake Wars, I’ve made away with too many of her cupcakes at ungodly hours of the morning (if you don’t follow Sprinkles for the free cupcake offers, you should be ashamed of yourself) to not show my appreciation in person. She was amazing, tall, and shockingly skinny for someone who eats so many sweets. Strange…
Later that day, caught up with the SD Sushi Ninjas with YerrBerr to get hooked up with some free sushi for my article in The Guardian that ran last Monday. You can read my review online here, but I think you can guess on my reaction by just looking at the pictures. I’m not too big a fan of the “gourmet food truck” trend, but this was pretty damn good! Plus the owners were super chill, I definitely support them starting their business and doin’ their thaaang.
Final festivities of the night included me being “that one girl at the party randomly snapping pictures of everyone.” Ok, sure. I fully accept that title.
